Davina Finished [Watercolor]

Howdy folks!

It's been awhile since I've last posted here! With #christmascon coming into full swing in about 2 week's time, I've been mulling over which projects to take on and such. To be honest, its been a while since I've had a good creative rush.

Which brings us to this piece...

I originally did the inking and detailing over several days since there was no true deadline.

I then brought out my collection of Holbein Gouche and Hanshin Watercolor paints. Honestly, I'm not confident with color because light and color design has always been a weak point within my art. If given a choice, I prefer watercolor/gouache because of the light-fastness of the medium. To me, opaque paints such as acrylic and oils were too thick and boring to use.

I decided to call the piece finished before over-working the paints. I'm not pleased with the finished product but it is another attempt towards mastering this medium.

Thank you for reading!

Gwangju Charity Event and November Update

The "Heroes" (From left to right: Rogue, Bard, Fighter, Wizard, Cleric)
October 2017 has been one of my most productive months of this year because of the sheer magnitude of artwork that I’ve produced. In the past, I would either fall short of my deadlines or give up for a variety of reasons. I’m happy to say that it was through the support of my friends that I was able to finish with a strong selection of images!

Up until now, I’ve had to keep this project a secret – BUT NO MORE!

ChristmasCon D&D Charity Event for Gwangju’s Adopt-a-Child Program
For the past few years, I’ve participated in a rather cool charity event that aims to provide the orphans of Gwangju, South Korea with a cool Christmas. The goal was to raise funds for Christmas presents by having Dungeon Masters and Players participate in a Pay-to-Play style Dungeons and Dragons game. The cool thing about this format is that players can buy neat accessories such as character art, dice, minis to complete their experience. Meanwhile, spectators could donate incremental amounts to either help the players by providing boons and benefits or help the Dungeon Master to make the experience much more difficult! If you’d like to learn more about this charity event, please check out the facebook group – “The Patron’s Guild”. #thepatronsguild, #protegoadorba, and #christmascon2017

Anyways, I participated by creating character art for one of the Dungeon Masters. I was challenged to create 5 distinct characters. You can see my progress below.
