Minotaur WIP

I was tasked with creating a minotaur. Protip: They're hard to create! Anyways, here's my WIP on the piece. Criticism is appreciated.

CHALLENGE #29 - MODERN WITCH

"Witch that isn't a swamp dweller. Something modern" ( more or less )

This piece went slightly better. Having performed this on within 12 hours, I'm getting the handle of using the computer to work on my pieces. Though...I've got a long way to go. =_=.

CHALLENGE #28 - UNLIKELY TRAINER

I decided to portray a ghost teaching his pompous student in the arts of fencing. What I ended up with instead was an old fashioned style print with thick lines.

As of late, I need to work faster and stick to deadlines better. This took several days =_=.

Character Design - Morgrym Spiritforge

As of late, I'm rocking a dwarven knight in a pathfinder campaign. His story's about an ex criminal who was given mercy, and devoted himself towards a cause.

CHARACTER DESIGN CHALLENGE - #27 - HUSCARL

This is one of those few pieces that I was able to do pure digital. Simple, crude, fast, watercolor brushes are delicious!

FINE ARTS CHALLENGE - WIZARDS STUDY

Alright folks, for anyone who knows me, I'm not that much of a fine arts painter. My style typically consists of watercolor painting and or a bold graphic style - but using tones / values / ACTUAL COLOR is a chore me. Honestly, I groveled so much over this piece. Even now, I'm not that happy about it...though there are some good moments. I learned that using the smudge tool with black/white tones makes a beautiful blending where by a well placed color overlay / multiple accentuates..well everything!

Completion: 32 hours

CHARACTER CHALLENGE #26 - RUINS - LATE

Water color brushes + color overlays = success.

CHARACTER DESIGN CHALLENGE - #25 - KAER MAGE THIEF_LATE

Sorry for the delay folks, I've been...well, I fell behind. I enraptured myself with the idea of making a masterpiece and now with a piece 2 days late, rushed, it's...not one of my better ones. However, there are some merits in this piece - composition. I was able to create a bustling market scene at the price of over complicating the elements. Until I can get better at rendering , and speed, boom.

CHALLENGE #24 - UNDERWATER TROUBLES

Glorious full plate's one weakness - nature. Not even the best armor would protect anyone indefinitely. For an example, being submerged. Welcome to gravity and boom, you're done.

CHARACTER CHALLENGE #23 - NOT ROBINHOOD

"Draw me a master archer. Not Robinhood"

I went for an imperial armored archer.

CHARACTER CHALLENGE #22 - FLYING AASIMAR BATTLE

"Draw a flying aasimar fighting against an airborne enemy:

This was a challenge. The final output was mediocre at best. I need to work on action poses more.

BRANDON CHALLENGE #2 - HELLSCAPE.

It's not often that I do scenes because...well, they're challenging for me. Though, I can't be a one trick pony and Brandon asked me to do something of what I considered hell to look like. I'd imagine this would be one of the entrances on the top most layer - Avernus, possibly a direct route to a hellmouth.

Looking back, scenes require several things that trouble the fuck out of me - Perspective, depth, and color composition. Something I'll have to work on more in the future.

BRANDON CHALLENGE #1 - MONSTER - HYDRA!!!

I could talk about proverbs, sayings, and whatever phrase that makes you feel all gooey inside, but here's the truth ladies and gentlemen - I NEED VARIETY. Aside from my friend Matt's daily requests, I've got another friend - Brandon - giving me prompts of different subject matter. For this piece, I was to create a monster, simple no?

Hydras happen to be Brandon's favorite mythical monster, and I can't blame him.

I should note here that this is one of my first attempts at digital painting, and I'got to say, I could slowly feel like it clicks.

CHALLENGE #20 - RIFLEMAN

"tian rifleman"

Tian is "eastern" for Pathfinder. Essentially, there's two major landmasses - The Inner Sea Region ( where 95% of the game takes place) and to the far east - the Min Kai Empire. I also went crazy with drawing other stuff since art's my drug now.

CHALLENGE 19 - THE DEAL

"Commoner makes deal with devil"

I need to learn a better way of handling my color treatment. Perhaps a pure b/w piece is in order...

CHALLENGE #18 WESTERN MONK

Alright folks, when what's the first thing that pops in your head when you're given - MONK - as a prompt?

John Wu films? Bald men in loose robes swinging weapons at each other? Fighting games?

I was challenged with creating a monk who didn't fit the action film eastern trope. For this piece, I figured it was best to go TRUELY western and what's more WESTERN than mofo Cowboys! The manliest, dirtiest, mangiest mongrols to roam the open plains taming a land as wild as the passion that swirls in their hearts, I mean COME ON! So, in an effort to afford Indiana Jones doubles, I had a westerner using a weapon fashioned to look eastern, keeping the trope alive!

Also, being that I'm color-challenged, I went simplistic and stuck with a VERY limited palette, thusly creating something that looks like a simple print.

BOOM!

CHALLENGE #17 - ZOMBIE PROSTITUTE!!!

For extra copper, she'll say "brains"

This was a fun request. While I feel that I'm getting better, coloring is still a difficult part for me.

I also drew other things.
